Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about staying at Jungle Junction and doing a Jim Corbett safari. Can't find your answer? Contact our team directly.

Before You Visit

November to February is the most popular season β€” cool weather, all zones open, excellent visibility and high wildlife activity. April–June offers the best tiger sighting probability (waterhole concentration). Monsoon (Jul–Oct) is quieter with Jhirna and buffer zones open.

Yes β€” especially for Dhikala (book 45–60 days ahead) and Bijrani (2–4 weeks recommended). Jungle Junction handles all permit bookings for guests. Share your preferred zone and dates when booking with us.

Entry fees vary by zone and nationality. A typical day jeep safari for Indian nationals costs β‚Ή2,800–5,000 (including jeep, guide and permit). Dhikala full-day safaris are higher. Fees are set by the Uttarakhand Forest Department and updated periodically.

Safari

Dhikala and Bijrani consistently deliver the highest tiger sighting rates. Dhikala's open grasslands allow long-distance sightings; Bijrani's dense sal forest gives closer encounters. For first-timers, Bijrani is the best starting point.

A standard safari gypsy takes 6 passengers + naturalist guide. Private gypsies (solo or couple) are available at higher cost. Jungle Junction recommends private gypsies for photography guests.

Morning safaris begin at sunrise β€” typically 6:00–6:30 AM. Jungle Junction serves breakfast from 4:30 AM for early departures. Afternoon safaris start at 2:00–2:30 PM. Dawn is when tiger activity is highest.

Yes β€” children above 5 years are permitted on jeep safaris in Jim Corbett. Our family packages include age-appropriate wildlife activities alongside the main safari.

Accommodation

Jungle Cottages (private, forest-edge, from β‚Ή4,500/night), Private Rooms (AC, en-suite, from β‚Ή2,800/night) and Dormitory beds (shared, from β‚Ή1,800/bed). See our Rooms page for full details.

Free WiFi is available across the property. Signal is strongest in the main building and common areas. Some forest-edge cottages have variable connectivity β€” we find most guests prefer it that way.

Yes β€” free secure parking for self-drive guests. Inform us in advance if bringing a larger vehicle.

Getting There

Approximately 260 km by road β€” 5.5–6 hours depending on traffic. The overnight Ranikhet Express train from Delhi Anand Vihar to Ramnagar (7 hours) is the most convenient option for a 6 AM safari arrival.

Yes β€” we arrange pickups from Ramnagar Station (7 km) for all advance bookings at no extra charge. Pantnagar Airport (80 km) and Kathgodam (75 km) pickups can be arranged for a fee.

Activities & Events

River rafting (Kosi), birdwatching walks, guided nature walks, overnight camping, village heritage tours, stargazing, forest yoga, cooking classes and bonfire evenings. See our Adventures page for the full list.

Yes β€” we host weddings from 20 to 300 guests in three forest venues (Forest Pavilion, Riverside Lawn and Bonfire Circle). Our events team manages full production β€” see our Weddings page.
