The most popular and consistently rewarding safari zone for day visitors. Just 8 km from Jungle Junction — dense sal forest, open pattas and multiple waterholes. The best choice for first-time Corbett visitors.

If Dhikala is the celebrity, Bijrani is the workhorse — the zone that delivers for the most people most consistently. Located near the southern boundary of Jim Corbett and accessed via the Amdanda Gate in Ramnagar, Bijrani is just 8 km from Jungle Junction — the closest major zone to us.
The zone's star attraction is its tiger population. Several resident tigresses have territories within Bijrani, and cubs have been raised and observed here across multiple seasons, making this one of the most reliably tiger-productive zones in the park. Morning safaris — when tigers move between forest cover and open clearings after the night's hunt — regularly produce extended sightings.
The pattas of Bijrani are its defining landscape — open, grassy clearings that break the forest canopy and create natural theatre for wildlife watching. Elephants graze in herds at dusk. Spotted deer, nilgai and sambar use them as feeding grounds. Predators — tigers, leopards and wild dogs — use the patta edges to stalk and ambush.
Bijrani is our strongest recommendation for first-time Corbett visitors. The access road is good, the terrain navigable, the wildlife diverse. Even without a tiger sighting, a Bijrani safari — with its bird life, elephant herds and forest atmosphere — delivers a deeply satisfying experience.
